I am just starting to look for an entry level AR15/M4 type weapon and would like to see what is out there.

Email me at [email protected] and let me know what you have available. I am not wanting to spend more than $900 at this time.

Where are you located....

That helps a lot...

If you are from upstate, you should contact our sponsor, Upstate Aromory. Tell Bob you are a member here. He will take good care of you...

If you are around Columbia, it is hard to beat Palmetto Armory for rifle prices...

Hope this helps.

at wal mart today and they had a bushmaster for 997.
bought a S&W-15 at Academy a couple years ago for 899, made it my SBR

at palmetto state armory, com you can build one for about 600.

49 for lower, 52 for lower parts, it was 80 for a moe stock kit at one time,
400 and up for an upper.

the wife and i drove to columbia from the upstate for the ride
and picked up 2 lowers and 2 lower parts kits and an M-16 BCG for 300 plus tax.

I just built my first ar from Palmetto State Armory. Total cost was $540. There lower were on sale but are not anymore. So you would be looking at about $570 total. Very easy to build the lower. I highly suggest going this route and building your own. Lots of good videos on youtube to follow along with while building the lower.

Thanks for the ideas about building one but I am just not that handy nor do I have the patience. I will check out the sponsors, I tend to go that route anyways but I am stilling thinking of finding a used but decent rifle as I know that there has to be something out there.

There are so many versions, makes, clones of the AR's that it is very difficult sorting out the good from the not so good.

I was at a gun show this last weekend, Hickory, NC, and I was not impressed by some of the "custom" built jobs that were going for low prices.

Naturally I want Mil Spec at cheap prices.

I would wager that there isn't two AR's set up identical in a 100 mile radius. There are so many options, accessories, and changeable parts it is almost funny.

I'll keep doing my home work but I would like to see what is available off the shelf or from someone.

I am in Lincolnton, NC but in-laws from Spartanburg and there often.

550 or 600 is pretty good for an AR, all new. the parts all have the palmetto state armory logo.
ill bet anyone on the forum would put it together for you and show you how simple it is if you supply the parts... and a few bullets. ask.
a while back someone told me that all lowers come from about 4 manufacturers. just sold and logo added. anybody know if thats true?

yes, AR-15's are like opinions. DO NOT go on the AR-15 forum and say "i want a cheap AR-15"
good grief, there are no worse gun snobs than the AR crowd.

FWIW, Rock River Arms AR's have a LIFETIME warranty, about $1k.

i would say buy the cheapo from PSA, play with it, and buy more/better later on.

'no one, can have just one...AR-15"
