Everything went fine with my knife order. I received order confirmation very quickly. The order shipped the following day and I received it four days later, no problems at all. I'll be keeping an eye on the site for anything else I "need." :-D

I didn't realize it at the time, either, but Byrd is a division of SpyderCo, with it's own branding. They're Chinese imports, but they are in fact sold on the SpyderCo website. If you or I had bothered to check, we could have known ahead of time they weren't the SpyderCo-branded knives we've come to know and love.

Personally, I don't think so. It's not Ballistic Reload's fault they weren't what we expected. They didn't lie about the product, they sold them as they're marketed elsewhere. There was no dishonesty on their part, just a lack of research on ours.

It's not a fantastic knife, but it's about what I'd expect for $20 - $30. As I said, I needed a new knife, and this one suits me just fine.

I was just coming here to post Byrd info but you beat me to it. They are listed on Spyderco's web site and are an import. They way they listed the knives as a Spyderco knife was a little misleading. Even the invoice shows, SPYDERCO: Byrd Knife Robin G-10S which like said above that's they way they are marketed. Not a bad knife but could have been better if it didn't have CHINA on the blade...

No leave the site up but as a word of caution check the merchandise through Google before buying.

Agreed. I wish I had bothered to check what I was ordering before I made the purchase, but oh, well. That'll learn me.

The bottom line. The knives I bought are good quality knives. They don't have Spyderco on the blade but are designed and manufactured for Syderco. The listing was misleading but like ConditionOne said, we should have done some research. For the price and quality I'm keeping mine and will definitely check out their items for sale from now on. I'm checking them every day hopefully for some good deals.
