The Importance of a Good Holster

This is why you need a good holster. This guy got lucky, imagine what would have happened if it was angled just a hair in word and went through his leg and nicked a femoral artery. This is also why in the few situations where I just grabbed a handgun in the moment and carried it without a holster the weapon was always condition three.

Thought this would be a good thing to share with y'all to help keep complacency from our doorstep.

I like the story but the comments from all the damn non-gun toting people really piss me off. I was reading it and my blood pressure was rising so I had to quit. I guess guns are just a way of life and people that have nothing to do with them should shut the F&^& up. Reading all the comments shows me how our wonderful president got elected.

Too be honest I didn't even read the comments until you mentioned it. While I agree with you the comments did make me pissed off, but those comments are made by those naive people who believe they live in a safe world and that their government will protect them. I'd like to know though how many of them were Americans posting and how many weren't.

@ the comments- wow, I hate the antis. Leave me alone. I don't want anything from you except you to leave me alone!

But, good link, Friends don't let friends go cheap on a holster. I would 100 times rather have a cheaper/less fancy carry gun, and spend the difference on a great holster. You are obviously safer, but the comfort level is huge too.

Sucks that his holster failed in a catastrophic way.
I put the blame on him for not paying attention to his gear.
That holster must have been soft and ready for replacement.

The comments are the usual from the peanut gallery.
The unwashed masses trying to prove they are right and we are wrong.
I say this to them en-mass, perhaps your pro-choice mother made the wrong decision.

I guess one of the hard plastic Ky-dex tuck type holsters would have prevented that. What do you guys think?

Oh - screw the antis. Clueless people

I think a kydex tuck type holster would have been great, but I think the real issue is not checking the wear on your gear. Any holster can wear out and that one was well past its service life. Add in a little bit of carelessness and this feller just did what we all try to avoid.
