The SoG thread got me to thinking about TV shows.
Especially very successful one.s

True Blood

Why do women watch it?
Answer; Excitement, Romance, and Vampires

Why do men watch it?
Answer, Violence, Boobs, Beer, and critters

Opinions?

Any other shows come to mind?

I gotta say I HATE True Blood - like really really really really HATE it. My version of Hell is me tied to a chair being forced to watch that show forever, that is how much I hate it.

That said - Walking Dead is pretty awesome and my favorite is Dexter.

Sons of Anarchy. This season is going to be epic, I think.

Breaking Bad. Some of the best acting I've ever seen in a TV show. Great season currently on, and I believe next season will be the final one.

I like Pawn Stars. Brilliant to open a pawn shop in a gambling capitol

as for most of the "reality" shows though, rewarding bad behavior is just tasteless. guess I'm getting old.

lololol, ditto! Along with anything else vampire/teen angst related. Frost, do you watch it?

I do love Bones & The Mentalist :D Even when the LE characters occasionally violate people's rights...(it's just t.v., it's just t.v....)

TV is so annoying anymore and I only watch a handful of drama type shows in the evening. I get eaten up by bugs working in the shop at night so there not much to do really(I'm so glad winter is coming).

Although not important and if I miss them no biggy they are:

NCIS (Both)- Ok so I think Abby (Pauly Perette) is cute and so is Kensi (Daniela Ruah).
CSI Vegas, NY and sometimes Miami- From time to time
The Mentalist- I really don't know why but I find the show amusing.
Dr Who- Most of you probably don't know of this being a British show but I have watched this show since I was in high school so I guess I'm what most call a Whovian.

I love "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," its crude, tasteless and everything that is wrong with society. It also has me in stiches every episode.

My wife and I DVR and watch "Weeds" and "The Big C" every week. They are both really good shows, but you have to watch them every week or you'd be lost.

Speaking of LOST, that was the best TV show ever, You HAVE to watch every episode and if you miss one you may not understand something that happens a few weeks later, or two seasons later for that matter. MY wife and I watched the entire series on DVD with a couple friends. We'd get together about once a week and watch an episode or two until we caught up, then watched the last 2 seasons on the DVR.

All that said, I really don't watch a ton of TV. Really only those first 3 shows are on anymore, I get most of my news from internet sites.

Falling Skies i think was the best new show of this year. I also like Human Target and Burn Notice. Fiona on Burn Notice could be the perfect woman!
