Should I Try Electronic Cigarettes ?

I realize this is probably off subject, but I am curious if anyone in this community has experiance with e cigarettes?

I've been trying to stop smoking for several years and have tried everything from the patch to perscription drugs. I am desparate, I have cancer and I do not feel like getting scammed or tricked into trying somthing even worse. Electronic cigarettes look like an interesting solution to stop smoking tobacco, but would they work? And how do I know which one to buy, most appear to be big money and I can not just afford to throw money away. I have treatments to pay for.

If anyone has any experiance with this I would really apreciate some advice.

Thanks.

I have had several members of my ship(navy) that used these. I would assume it helped them in terms of health reasons but it continues to contribute to the habbit. I view it as a step down from an actual one. Best of wishes...having cancer should be enough but being ignorant towards the addiction I cant comment.-Shane

I smoked for many years. Then, I quit cold turkey for 7 years...Then I started again...What a fool.

My wife heard about this Doctor's program. 4 Shots and you are done with it...
It was pretty pricy to me...but....Cigarettes at $5.00 a pack is a bunch of money...
I paid $490.00 to do the shot thing. You get a shot behind each ear and a shot in each sholder...as fast as they can give them to you...Then, you have to have someone with you that can drive home...
I don;t even remember the drive home...quite a trip...

But, bottom line is: No smoking for about 5 years, and, I can' even believe I ever did that nasty habit...

Over three packs a day when I quit in 2000
Hardest thing I have ever done.
The patch got me over the hump, that and a cough that would not go away.

15 years of smoking followed by 15 years of trying to quit. Quit in 2001 with the help of Zyban and a family physician that asked if I wanted to see my daughter graduate... Damned hard thing to kick.

Smoked maybe 2 packs a day for 35 years. Liked to smoke, and was not trying to quit.

My wife bought an electronic for me last November. I have not smoked an analog since, or even wanted one.

If you do try it, do not buy anything until you go to http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ to check things out. My wife paid $200 for the same thing we could have gotten for $40. lso, there are a lot of different types, so do yourself a favor and read up on it before you pull the trigger.

I carry it in my pocket like a pen, and when I feel like I want a smoke, I pull it out and puff on it. I find that I can "sneak" smokes in a lot of places I could not a real cigarette.

I was a two pack a day menthol pall mall smoker for 10 years and I used Chantix in 2005 and haven't touched them sense. That shit really worked well for me. I smoked for a week and then quit after the meds were built up in my system and never had a craving after.

After 11 years I still get the craving once in a while but it passes quickly.
It is usually triggered by second hand smoke.

Just quit.....
I did 7 years ago, just decided one morning. I quit buying smokes a bought one pack of the roll your own tobacco. I think I rolled maybe 8 or 9 that week. Threw them away and never looked back. Then you get to realize how bad they actually smell.......NASTY.
Good luck...........It's all in your head.

I know this guy in Greenville that will hypnotize you to quit smoking. It works great. No side effects, no urges or withdrawal symptoms. Its about 250.00 and about 3 to 4 sessions. You give them up on the third session and it is like magic! PM me for details when you are ready to quit. PM only if you are brave enough, tough guys

I got rid of the spammer.
Typically we request that you don't post in threads being spammed.
After I zap them and their posts the things a person may say to them may be misconstrued or look silly.
We do the best we can to keep them under control
Sorry about that.

I started and stopped a number of times.
I quit once for a bit over two years.
Most of the time when I would quit it would be for a couple of months.

Finally I developed that cough that would not go away and used the patch.
I have now been quit for a lot of years.
I don't miss hacking up that black crap.
