Anyone interested in a postal match?
We could have these 8 catagories:
Best group each catagory wins.
Braggin rights and maybe the mods can put a marksman title under our avatar for the winners?

35 yard handgun
50 yard lever action iron sights
50 yard rimfire ironsights

100 yard rimfire improved sights

100 yard milsurp semi
100 yard milsurp bolt

50 yard any gun - must select this catagory
100 yard any gun- " " "

Maybe July 1st deadline for mailing the targets.
We could use these targets http://www.targetz.com/targetzlib/10144.pdf
Added rules:

50 yard targets will be judged for placement- closect to the red center first AND then group size.
100 yard targets will be judged on group size only.

be sure to list on the target what catagory the target is for.
Dats all the rules, we kep it simple.
Mail to: Lafayette Gregory 220 Arlington Avenue Greenville 29601
winners announced the first full week of July

Come on guys and gals there is plenty of time for this match! get dim targets in the mail

I'm interested but no lever action(mine are antiques), No decent rimfire unless i can use my .22 conversion for the AR and only have a 1911 for 50 yrd handgun.100 yard milsurp semi i can handle that and 100 yard milsurp bolt got that covered too.

Rimefire is rimfire no matte where it comes from.
You could use your cowboy stuff for the handgun catagory. Probally more accurate than a 1911.
Or you could use some of my stuff.

Ya know after watching shooting USA last night the Steel challenge folks were only shooting out to 35 yrds, I think IDPA is the same as well. Maybe the 50 yrd pistol is a bit much?

So is it required that you shoot in all categories?
The term
Postal Match
would mean it is done through the mail.

I think it would be a good idea and I'll even participate as long as I don't have to buy 4 or 5 guns to get in . . .

It would also be great for the fall shootzenfest.

I gotta warn you though, all my guns are more accurate than I am.

One question: tell me again how many tries do I get to pick from to send in?

Participate in only the catagories you want, No need to enter all, shoot what ya got ;)

Sounds good- maybe this could be the primer for the catagories.

As many as you want  - just mail in one target for each catagory.

Come on guys- This could be fun. ;) Just copy the catagories and print your targets. Follow the rules the next time you are at the range. You may even improve your aim by following some rules. Then it only cost one envelope and one stamp. The point is not to be the best shot- The pioint is just to send in the targets and participate. Its all about the fun of shooting

I agree. the next time I go to the range this weekend and I'll take at least two or three categories with me.

I shoot .22 lr a good bit at the range. I have a Ruger MarkIII and a Taurus M94 revolver as well as a Marlin rifle that I shoot.
I usually rotate in some centerfire calibers, but just enough to keep them shot.
The .22 stuff is affordable and a lot of fun to shoot for a long period.
I rarely keep the targets, but I always check them.

an dI don't mind not winning, I'm used to it!

Dum question about targets. These are to be printed on standard size sheet of paper 8.5" x11" I take it? The reason I ask is I have a printer at work that can print the chosen target at 32" x 40" :D.

Sounds pretty cool. I wish I had saved my targets from yesterday. I guess this gives me another reason to go back out and shoot though.
