I've wanted to build a 300 Whisper upper for years now but never managed to do it. I've spent all my play money on HK hosts and such.

Well now that AAC & Remington have standardized this round it's time to get off the pot and do it. So I've got a 9", SS, 1 in 8" twist barrel with an adjustable gas block on the way.

Gonna take 4 weeks so I'll have time to gather some components for reloading. Have to get my 9mm can refurbed to fit this barrel as well.

I'm hoping to get things worked out in time for pig hunting real soon!

Clicker, that is awesome :D

I think I'm going to ditch my 5.45x39 experiment in lieu of a 300 Blackout as well - I'm itching for a can on an AR and the .223 stuff just doesn't do it for me...

Thanks guys I'm pretty excited. Should have it within 2 to 3 weeks.
Need to order an action block and send my suppressor off for a refit so it will mate up to the 5/8"x24 threads on the 300 barrel.
I'll keep ya'll posted.

Clicker, I've got an upper receiver vice block and a barrel nut wrench you could borrow if that helps...

That would be great, I'll hit you up when it arrives. All I've used for years has been a pair of those aluminum vise inserts that clamps around the barrel, I'd hate to mar the finish on my new barrel using them.

The barrel is here! They didn't ship the gas tube so it'll be a few more days before I can assemble it.

I got mine too (10" noveske, pistol gas)

Going to put it together this weekend, even though I still don't have any 300 BLK ammo yet! :(

Dang Kala you stepped it up a notch there with a Noveske. Should be a sweet rig.
Yeah I have to borrow some dies from HarperJT and load some ammo myself.

Come by the house and get some food for that thing. I have 200-300 whisper rounds sitting at the house.

Oh sure like your wife is gonna let me visit two weekends in a row!
On the other hand I could bring my tools and tell her I'm fixing the fluorescent lights in the garage.
Yeah that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Delta Arms Co. should have received the bad one by now so I'd hope the replacement will be here by the end of this week.

Well guys I have an update for ya'll. After a month of delays I received the replacement barrel today - Happy Happy Joy Joy - or so I thought.

The first sign of trouble was the notation on the shipping carton which reads: 10" CM BLK 300.
Hummmm that's not correct (I thunk to my self) but it's probably just an old carton they reused to ship my barrel.

Open her up and son of a bitch it is a 10" chrome moly barrel and didn't have a thread protector. However I ordered and paid for a 9" stainless steel barrel complete with a thread protector back on Jan 3rd 2011.

I am just about fed up with this crap from them and needed to vent here amongst friends, I'm waiting on a reply from Aaron about how he plans to rectify this mess. That Noveske barrel is looking better and better..........woulda, coulda, shoulda!

Got a phone call this morning and I should have another barrel coming my way. If it's not here by Saturday I'm assembling the 10 incher and shooting it until my 9" arrives.
