I just got back from Virginia where I spent most of the time carrying openly. It was great to have the freedom and the only time I got any looks or anyone said anything was if they wanted to know what it was and talk about guns. Great way to make new friends :D

I'm going back to VA for about a week next month. I will enjoy the flavor of OC while there. I miss it.

I'll be in Richmond for a bit, then up in NOVA. I would prefer staying south of Fredericksburg, but I have some family up north. It's like a different country up there. I lived in NN for about a year.

Nice. Anywhere near DC is a different place. I grew up in MD close to NOVA. It's nice crossing the river and being able to carry. Have a safe trip to Richmond.

We miss being able to Open Carry too. Any excuse we have to travel to an OC state, we take it, lol. Usually when we go visit my family, we OC through NC, VA and WV.

Wish SC would get Constitutional Carry passed!!!

So, to open carry in VA, does it require any additional license or do you just strap a hog leg on and go walkin?

Not a single license is needed to exercise the right to carry openly in Virginia. If you want to conceal, though, you would need a VA Concealed Handgun Permit or a permit from another state that VA recognizes.

Here's a pamphlet I updated at the end of last year, on Virginia gun laws. Its suppose to be printed out on one piece of paper, on both sides, then folded, to get the full affect of it:

Yes sir. And for a real thrill, there is always sterile OC. No ID at all. Freedom is tasty.

So NC is OC too???

If so, I may REALLY freak my co-workers out by pulling my rig out of my luggage at the border and strapping it on at the next gas stop. They already think I am a gun nut, this would push them over the edge.

Is this only for residents of NC or can anyone passing through do this. I think I know the answer (Yes?) but am going to NC in a few days.
