Old ammo questions

Spotted this stuff in a friends house. Been on a shelf for 20+ years.

First off, what kind of ammo is this? Never seen anything like this.

And is this stuff safe to shoot? Has an 8 cent SC ammunition tax sticker on em. Brass is fine, not corroded, appears to be fine.

Anybody need some 32 long?

yes id like some 32 long!!!!

this one was my Grandpas. INA made in Brazil. thats a Tiger on this side. my Dad had one just like it with a snubnose. i got it and for some reason my sister wanted it so i got this one. they bought them at Roses for $47 each. probably in the late 50s. i know the cylinder has turned but i dont think it has ever been fired. i fired the snubnose since i was 9 till maybe 10 years ago when i swapped with her.

the first 38s are wadcutters, not semi. they punch a hole in paper like a paper cutter hole punch.

i will shoot old ammo.

Me too. I've been shooting 1950s vintage 8mm mauser and .30-06 for years (ha).

The .38 SPL wadcutters are target ammo only (what they were designed for).

Someone can have the 32 if they come get it in west Ashley. Won't be home until tomorrow at least.

I will shoot it all in the GP100 then. It'll handle about anything you throw at it.

Anybody know when they were putting the stickers on? Curious how old this stuff is

LOLno. Technically it's part of Charleston.

I've got a box of 1950s era .38SPL wadcutters I intend to fire through my Rossi when I finish it - I pulled one down (harder than you'd think) and the powder burned fine and the primer went pop, so I'm calling it good.

I will take the 32 long off your hands. My wife likes to shoot them in her SP101 .327 Mag. I'll PM you.

i load 44 mag with lead cause i bought a bunch when they were $25/1000 (projectiles).

ive never used any 44 special cause worse than 38/357 they lead the cylinder and make it hard to get the magnums in.

I shoot ammo from 1938 and it works just fine. As long as it's kept properly then shoot away! :)
