It is usually dog shit, but it is close to home.
Last time I had my HK SL-8 with me to sell or trade. More than half of the dealers had no fucking idea what it was, unreal.
I'll have a Beretta Urika 2 xtra grain 20g and maybe a handgun to sell or trade Sat.

Well I have to eat my words about the MB show.
I traded my SW500 for my dream revolver, a SW model 29 4" in blue. It is new. The 29-10 which is fine with me considering my 500 had 21 shells through it. I know from SW the Model 29-10 in 4" blue retails at $1149, at least by their website. I paid $950 for my 500 a few years ago on one of those tax free gun days, so that was my out the door cost.
I got 100rds of magnum and 50 specials to burn as soon as I can get to Georgetown range :)...

Lesson 1, PMC magnum rounds not for me with a 4" barrel.
Lesson 2, 44 specials dumbed down to 850-900fps nicey nice. :D

Very accurate, definitely need some wooden fingered groove grips. I saw some real nice ones online.

What was the 500 like to shoot?
I have been thinking I would like to have one but am not sure I can handle the recoil.
What is it like compared to the 44 with hot loads?

The 500 I had with the 8" barrel was a pussycat with 325grain jhp. The massive weight really mitigated any recoil. Now a 500 with those 4" barrels I wouldn"t want any part of. I never did try the 400g "grizzly rounds" though, I would bet they would have jumped my 500.

The M29 was 100x worse with 44 mags than the 500 with 500mag rounds. Of course they have 500 specials now but they are still incredibly expensive, over $30 for 20rds. Where as 50 rds of 44 specials at the gun show for $21.00 and shot like .38s.

The 500 was a great gun but you really need deep pockets to feed it. Even reloading, the components are high for that.

I have never priced components but I always kind of figured I would not be shooting it very much.
I would probably get much more use out of a couple more glocks but it would be kind of neat to have one.
Before I consider it I am going to shoot one just to see first hand.

My 44 loads are kind of stiff even with a magna-ported pistol.
They aren't that bad though, if you like a big ball of fire...
