Well after a few years, I have settled on Glocks in 9mm as my primary carry. I am getting rid of my XDs and moving over to the dark side. The XDs have been so good to me, Never a jam and always great, I almost hate to sell them. Unfortunately, selling is the only way to finance the transition.

I've been a Glock guy from the start and I have a lot of reasons for choosing Glock.
My primary home defense gun is a Glock 22 and my Glock carry is a G27. .40 is my round of choice, but I have the 9mm conversion barrel for the G22 and plan to get a 9mm conversion for the G27.

I've always liked the way the Glock is so simple in design. Frost and I were talking about that a day or so ago.
From a design standpoint, they are easy to understand, easy to work on, easy to change parts, and quite plentiful. If you needed "repair parts" the Glock 9mm would be one of the most likely things you would come across.

I'm just curious, what is the tipping point that made you change from XD to Glock?

Good choice!

I must admit to curiosity as well, good choice by the way.
I was a 1911 guy for many years and finally bought a Glock to shut up a LEO friend.
Much to my surprise the dang thing worked every time and felt natural in my hand.

The reason is quite simple actually. I can point shoot glocks better. I think it has to do with having extremely large hands that seem to like the grip angle of a glock. I don't inherently prefer the design, I like the XDs too. I just can't deny that when I shoot both, side by side without taking time to line up sights, I shoot glocks better.

The tipping point was shooting yesterday, My buddy had his 19 and I shot it right after i shot my Service XD. It just points better for me.

Good Switch. I bought a glock 23 on my 21st birthday nine years ago and it has close to 30-40 thousand rounds through the barrel with all of the LE schools and comps if I have been in. I was telling a customer yesterday that to my knowledge I have never had a malfunction.....Works perfect all the time, although the pattern is getting a little wide. I think its time to buy another factory barrel.

When they were designing the 20 and 21 they used my right hand as a model.
My hands are 2XL and they fit me perfectly.

The 23 was my first one and it was love at first shot.

Had a customer bring his glock over today for a trigger job. Its amazing what a few $15 parts and a dremal can do to a trigger. I must say he brought a inch thick manual that made it super easy too. That was my first but can tell you in the next 15 minutes my parts will be ordered for my 23.

So I picked up a 3rd Gen 19 and a 3rd gen 9/11 edition 17 today. No more XDs but I don't have any remorse. I'll post some pics later today.

Another Glock fan here. a 17 and a 23 reside in my hands. I think that big hand thing must be the deciding factor. I too have very large hands.
