What I have is a spam can of bulk .30 carbine ball ammo in cartons, from Western Cartridge Corp (lot WCC-6427), repacked EC-5-44
I'm trying to figure out is if it's still going to be in good condition and where I can find more.

I only know it by the name spam can and I'm not finding them for sale anywhere. Do they have an official name that I should be searching for?

The can is in pretty good shape, there's a dent/scrape in it where my husband ran into it when he was a teenager, and some spray paint on it from when someone made up some signs, but other than that the structural integrity of the can seems fine. Is it going to be chock full of cosmoline when the zombies show up and I need to crack it open?

Thank you kind sir. Are there any reliable sources for more? I ask because all I can find are the places that want to charge like 1k for the 800 round can I have. Sounds more like collector prices than real world usage.

What you have is collectable. Post some pics to make sure. If you do not shoot the m1 a lot - You may do better selling the spam can to a collector and buying the less expensive Russian 30 carbine for plinking.
