Looks great, Cost a bunch....BUT its going back to Kahr in the morning with bells on and a nasty letter. Hell, I might print out this post and stick it in the box so they can see I bad mouthed them on the internet.

Now to break it down. I bought 300 rounds of 95 gr winchester white box and went to the range this evening to run the 300 though it and break it in. I figured I would run the 200 required for break in and another 100 to make sure its reliable before I carry it. Needless to say on the 300th round I was no further along than the 5th round. Honestly I got 2 complete mags through it without malfunctioning in some way out of 300 rounds. It stove piped, double feed, didnt go back all the way into battery, Jammed, and literally went click 6 or 7 times when I would pull the trigger and yes a round was in the chamber. I would pull it back and reset the trigger and then it would fire. The problems were so bad it was like every other round.

I havent cussed that bad in a long time. I knew I should have bought the Sig. You would think as expensive as the bastard is it would function every time. I'm sending it out in the morning to kahr. If it doesnt shoot when I get it back it will be up for sale quickly on armslist. I need a gun that goes bang every time like my glock.

AYE, I have heard some bad things about kahr's, but never any reliable 1st hand accounts. I have been wanting a single stack nine, and I guess I will be saving some money on that purchase.

I had the kahr pm 9, it would only work with one mag out of 3, would fail to feed so i sold it. If you want a little 380 and i can honestly say i have had 0 malfunctions with it, is the little taurus 738. I read the reviews which were not favorable for it but was told by the person (dont want to say his name) at Carolina Rod and gun that he had sold a bunch of them with no complaints or any coming back. I've had it for over a year now and it fits right into my back pocket. I have shot speer gold dots, hornady critical defense, corbon, winchester fmj's and no problems with any of them. So I am happy for well under 300 bucks.

I've got a K40 elite98, I have had it for about 12 years and carry it often. It has never given me any trouble(that was not my own fault, and only then 1 time). This is one of the few complaints that I've heard about them. I hope they make it good for you.

Got the Kahr back today. They said on the form that they replaced a bunch of parts in it and ran two mags with no problems. I am going to the range in the morning with some different ammo and buffalo bore to try it out. Check armslist tomorrow after 12 and if you see a Kahr P380 listed dirt cheap then DONT BUY IT cause its still a POS. I may be ordering a sig tomorrow. Time will tell.

Well I'm on the fence. To sell or not to sell??? I took the kahr out to the range today and had some armscor 380 95gr FMJ. Two mags and that was enough. Every round out of 12 stove piped. I also tried critical defense 95 gr and every round stove piped on it too. I was about to give up when I tried the buffalo bore +P FN hardcast lead and HP's. Two full mags with each kind and they worked great. I did have one premature lock back even though there was still a round in the mag. So to sell or not to sell? As a carry gun with the +P rounds I think its somewhat reliable but as a everyday shooter with regular priced/velocity ammo it sucks. So should I go with the sig and drop this thing like a bad habit?

Somewhat reliable can get you somewhat killed. You know how much I like my Bersa but for a subcompact I'd look at the Sig. Fordnut let me shoot his and I like it more than the Kel-tec or the LCP. Just a thought.

I'm thinking I may step it up to a pocket 9mm. Now that I have done my homework I see on the Kahr talk forums that the P380 is known for problems but the PM9 seems well built with much talk on them. Anybody have a pocket 9mm? Im thinking the PM9 or the new sig P290.

Henry: I had a PF9 Kahr...It was pretty sweet. We shot about 50 rounds thru it at the range one day... It did great and was very accurate.
I liked it a lot...but....you know me. Someone soon liked it more than me...

I would buy another one...I feel you wouldn't go wrong with one.

Oh Yeah...The Colt left today...Someone needed more than me...

Henry, I too had the pm9 and didnt like it at all. It failed to feed several times with various ammo, speer gold dots, critical defense and reg ball ammo. I'd hold out and see what the ruger does after a while or the same for the sig. But i wouldnt do the kahr. You even shipped it for me after selling it on gunbroker.

Good info Tim I didnt know that. I'm thinking the new Sig 290. None of my distributors have them yet though.

Henry: Have you seen the new offering from Kimber...It is real cool looking...I have rad a few reviews on it, and, seems like everyone likes it, but....haven't had one in my hands yet...

I will get one, sooner or later....and, I might even keep it awhile...who knows...
