Is the flag on this hat backwards?

I got a free hat from the NRA and I noticed the flag on it. Shouldn't it face the other direction, or is that just for patches?

Is the flag on this hat backwards? (please excuse the cat hair )

Note 1: The hat was made in China :shock:
Note 2: There are only 28 US States according to the flag on the hat :shock:


From what I could find, if the flag is hung it should be like so.

The flag would be displayed incorrectly if it were on any kind of uniform. As a decoration it is fine.
