Now that the heat wave might be over we'll get started again.
Registration is from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 and the match begins at 10:00 a.m. Match fee is $15. Please have the correct change or pay by check. You may shoot your first match without being a member of IDPA, but IDPA rules require membership in IDPA thereafter in order to participate in future matches. Proof of IDPA membership will be required at registration, so be sure to bring your valid-IDPA membership card. Effective September 1, 2011, all new shooters must successfully complete an Introduction to IDPA class before shooting their first IDPA match at Palmetto Gun Club. This three-hour class is taught by IDPA match officials and covers range safety rules, IDPA competition rules, and provides the new competitor with time on the range to shoot IDPA courses of fire. The class is designed to make the new competitor safe and comfortable with action shooting. A certificate of achievement will be awarded for successful completion of the class. Exempt from the class are active competitors from IPSC/USPSA, Steel Challenge, ICORE and SASS (you must present your valid membership cards when signing in for your first IDPA match) and law enforcement officers. Classes will be held on the second Sunday of each month at 1:00 beginning September 11, 2011. Contact Karl Hofen (khofen @bellsouth.net) for further details and to register for the class.
