Hey Ladies, I'm looking into sticky holsters

I'm strongly considering carrying iwb with either a sticky holster or a remora. Does anybody have any experience with these holsters? Which guns do you find work best with iwb carry? As much as I would love a ruger lc9, I'm pretty small and I'm thinking I won't be able to conceal it as well as an lcp or tcp. What do y'all think? Guys have it pretty easy when it comes to concealed carry, but it's tougher for us gals to conceal and still wear what we want to wear. Any input would be greatly appreciated, But I would be thrilled to hear from someone with experience with these.

The "Sticky Holster" appears to be a more expensive knock-off of the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. I have used a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster previously with many guns, from Kel-Tec P3AT & PF9 to Glock 26 and even small revolvers. This type holster works and works well.

The issue arises if your pockets are anything like my wife's clothing... the pockets are small and almost useless. You will need deep, "real" pockets in your shorts or pants for this type of holster to work.

Thanks for your input, I too have teeny tiny pockets, that's why I'm looking at the sticky or remora for inside waistband carry, if I could carry in a pocket I would, but especially when summer comes, that's just not going to be a possibility

How are you going to keep the holster in position? The stickiness likely won't be enough to keep the entire holster and weapon from sliding down to your ankles. You will need a belt clip for that type of application.

This holster is what I use when I wear shorts or pants without a belt ( house shorts, sweatpants, et al.) and it works great and is low profile, and easy-on / easy-off.

I was concerned that they wouldn't stay in place well, but I recently saw a couple review videos that proved me wrong, it seems to stay in place well with the gripping texture of the holster and tight jeans/shorts, which is what I typically wear anyway. I really want this conceal method to work for me, as I wouldn't have to alter my wardrobe much at all.

Megan,
I don't have much experience with remora holsters specifically but I do have a knock off that I use to pocket carry my LC9. It works well for that purpose and I don't see why it wouldn't work fine for IWB for the LC9 or smaller guns. I would not trust it 100% with something the size of my 1911 or perhaps even with my xd9sc with a full 16 round mag. My experience with my knock off is that over the course of a few days it collects lint and starts to slip more than I like with the heavier guns. In my pocket that's fine, in my waist band I found myself hitching it up.
I do think the one that I have uses an inferior fabric because even with regular washing it now slips more than I like. Hmmm...perhaps it's time to go holster shopping again?
That said, my preference for IWB is a good belt and a crossbreed style holster.

I did John, thanks for all the detailed pics! It looks like a very solid conceal carry option. I love the way it rotates forward to conceal better. I'm now in the market for either a TCP or LCP, whichever I find at a better price first.

Thanks for your input Enjay! What "knockoff" version did you get? All I've seen in my searches are the remora and the sticky, and they both look pretty comparable in effectiveness, although the more reviews I read/watch the more I find myself thinking that the remora is of superior quality and will most likely last longer (in both grippy-ness and general wear and tear).

Just FYI the TCP is picky-picky on ammo. Honestly, I don't trust it 100% with anything. If I can possibly carry my M&P I do.

I just remembered something:

When I had a Kel-Tec PF9 and Kel-Tec P3AT I added "Clip Draw" steel clips to them and they could be worn securely without a holster. The idea of a "sticky holster" being used IWB instead of in a pocket still makes me cringe when I think about the dozens and dozens of people that have lost their guns over the years. A CCWer losing their gun, by itself, has been demonstrated to be justification enough for a permanent revocation of CCW privileges. I don't want that to happen to a "good guy" nor do I want to see another "see? this is why guns are dangerous" story on the news because the "sticky holster" failed to retain itself and the gun via friction between a piece of fabric and skin and lost the struggle with gravity.

Thanks for your imput dreamerofdreams, I got a chance to hold both yesterday at trader world in north chs and I preferred the feel of the LCP too. I think I'm going to be selling my thunder 380 for an LCP once I'm sure my recent purchase (bersa model 86) is as reliable as I'm hoping it will be

Avtomat-Acolyte, the clip draw looks awesome! It was secure? It looks extremely convenient and low-profile

Enjay, sure.....it looks like this, but is for a LCP

the GREAT part of these holsters, is that the attachment mechanism ROTATES, so you can adjust it with one hand, without fighting with it,
and if you sit long periods, you can move it around easily.

the clip being behind the gun instead of beside it, makes a smaller package.

Update: I actually just put some money down on a walther tph 22! I know they've had their set of issues, but from what iv read, those can be solved by a fluff and buff from a gunsmith and carefully selecting ammo. I'm very excited about this purchase and it comes with its own custom leather IWB holster!

Congratulations! I hope it works well for you. Hopefully you can find some ammo and get some practice in at the range so you can get comfortable with your new sidekick.

Enjoy!

Thanks MCA! I'm so excited! I'm like a kid on Christmas with new guns :D I'm hoping I'll be able to practice with the cheaper stuff once the chamber has been buffed out. It's so pretty! I can't wait to pay it off and take a trip to the range!
