I traded one of my beloved Kimbers for a factory S&W MP 7.62X39 AR last night...I have wanted a 7.62 for awhile, but, heard so much about them having feed troubles. This is a factory gun...so, any problems and S&W can fix it...

I can't wait to get my hands on her...

Steve, I am so sorry I couldn't get your new toy to you today. I had seven customers who just had to pick up before 12 today and I just couldn't get up to the post office before they close at 12. I will do the transfer for free to say I'm sorry.

All is well in Hanahan...The bad boy 7.62 AR is home....safe and sound...

I ordered 500 rounds of ammo yesturday...By the weekend I should be ready to try her out...

Range Report: It Sucks....The Mags will not feed///FTF one right after another. I bought 500 rounds of soft point ammo and it didn't want to feed it. Clicker Dave was there and he had some ammo. He had Full metal jacket stuff...It would feed them either...

This was the problem I was afraid of with the 7.672 AR's...Now, I have to cure the problem...

The rifle came with C-Products 30 round mags....I really believe that is the problem. Dave said he had some other brand mags and so I will try them.

The Aromry in Columbia has some 10 round mags, also. I think they would cure the problem...

But, on the bright side....It is a great shooter in the single shot mode...

Oh Well...some days you are the bug, and, some days your are the windshield...

Will keep you posted...

Sorry to hear that Steve.
I had heard the magazines were the weak link.
I was hoping that was not going to be the case with yours.

I though maybe with it being a factory gun, the mags wouldn't be a problem...

It is a great shooter...and, it is new...Maybe it needs some breaking in, also...I didn't even clean and oil it before I went...

I wasn't planning a trip to the range, but, friend wanted to go...so...took it the way it was...

I will have her ready to shoot right by Shootzenfest...I know that ...

This is a keeper...

It did feed better with FMJ's vs the SP ammo but it still choked on the FMJ's from time to time. I have some USA brand mags that work well in my 7.62x39 upper so we'll try those next.

The gun seemed to shoot to the point of aim, I scared the crap outta some chunks of 2x4 at 100 yards with irons. That is all gun right there cuz most of you guys know I can't hit anything.

With the right ammo & mag combo it should be fun!

This is an old thread....To bring it up to date....

I never got it to run...I spent lots of cash on ammo, mags, and new bolt. I just would not feed.

It now belongs to someone else. He says it runs good...but, just wondering if he has shot it much.

I really liked the 7.62 round in an AR base, but, after spending almost $ 1000.00 to get to run with no success...I quit...

Don't feed the trolls guys. This David23 dude bumped 8 old threads last night in the Black Rifle section all with stupid obscure replies.
