So I am about 98% sure my major at the sherrifs office is going to sign me a demo letter for a M16. I found a post 86 olimpic arms 5.56 and .22lr conversion local with a nice scope for $1000. I think I'm going to jump on it unless one of you know of a cheaper price for one without a scope. Just let me know.

Ok...Got the letter. Should have the gun in my possession in about two months. Who wants to shoot it? The business toys are your toys too. We will be able to drop 5.56 or .22lr. I cant wait. should be fun....I'm still trying to figure out how I can get my major to sign me a letter for a 249SAW. LOL!

You ought to consider a post RDIAS. That way you can shoot the crap out of the thing and not have to worry about the host. Plus I hear they have a belt feed coming out fot the MGI lower.

RDIAS, Registered Drop in Auto Sear. It's a little piece of metal that is considered a machine gun (M-16) that you can drop in most AR15 lowers and it acts as the sear. All you have to add are the other M-16 parts, hammer, trigger, disconnect, selector and something else and you?re ready to rock in role. The beauty of the RDIAS is that you don't have to worry about wearing out a registered lower. They?re practically un-destroyable. You could buy a MGI lower and use it with all the different configurations they have or order a Ciener belt fed semi lower and your ready to rock in roll with a belt fed. Ciener?s left fed lower receiver has several cuts in the receiver that I would want to have added to a registered M-16 lower.
Call Spencer and he can make you a sample sear. It shouldn?t cost but around $100. My next MG will be a RDIAS but I?ll still keep the register receiver. 2 kids, M-16 for each when they get older.

The DIAS is made. Spence cant form 3 it to me until he gets the building of it approved first. No clue when that will be. The host is stripped in my safe since it is a 10.5" RRA upper. I'm waiting on Magpul FDE paint to paint the whole gun. I don't want to put it together until I have the DIAS or it will be a SBR. I have a pistol buffer tube though so I'm good. I am going crazy to get it though. I hope its ready before spring shootzenfest. We will see.

So everything is set in stone for the post M16. Ordered the last part tonight. I love the looks when the free float tube goes over the suppressor to give it the one piece look. Parts are as follows.

PSA Lower
Spikes Tactical A3 Upper
RRA 10.5" Heavy Barrel
RX Guns DIAS
Std lower parts kit with Full auto Selector, Disconnector, and Hammer
FA BCG
Magpul MOE Buttstock
Magpul MOE pistol grip
YHM low profile Short Gas Block
YHM Diamond series Specter Length handguard 9.675"
AAC Blackout 18-tooth Flash Suppressor
AAC 7.62 SD Suppressor
Fordnut's Chinese made EO Tech he sold me
Magpul MBUS backup front and rear sights

Seeing that DuraCoat only makes 5 colors in Ceramic DuraHeat for Full Autos I decided to paint it a solid flat dark earth. Can you say expensive! 8 oz was dealer cost of $65 compared to $20 for regular. It is rated to 1800 degrees. They say regular duracoat will fail at 500-600 but guys have tested it in full auto and it discolors at about 400 degrees.

Paint and parts should be here soon.

Clicker....Call Spence and tell him it is KILLING ME to get the DIAS.

Trust me I already have.
He is waiting on the return of his form 2 so he can submit your form 3. That serial number needs to be in the ATF database before he can file paperwork for it's transfer to you.
He will be in town this Saturday and planned to bring one of his DIAS, maybe we can mock it up in your gun if you're available.
Did you buy the YHM handguard wrench? I have one if needed.

Dont know if I will have the barrel back from the from the gunsmith or if I will have it painted yet. More than likely not. The barrel was on the high end of tolerance and the gas block was on the low end and it wont slide over the gas port. Has to be milled down a little.

I will def need that wrench because I didnt think about that. I have a regular wrench and an ar-10 wrench. I used the ar10 wrench to take off the free float tube that was on there. I was only able to use it partially with two prongs instead of the full 8 like the ar10...I will let you know when I get ready to assemble it.
