I finally got to try the FNP45 at ATP today. I ran 100 rounds of WWB through it without a single glitch. It shoots to point of aim over and over. Double Taps are easy to control. It is a handful of pistol. It is a fullsize service pistol which fits my hand well. The triigger pull on double action is heavy, about 8 lbs. but smooth. The single action pull is between 4 and 4.5 lbs. I had practiced dry firing for the last two weeks or so. That made the trigger pull out the holster very manageable. If you get the USG model with the manual safety and decocker, you can carry it cocked and locked. I'm use to DA/SA so I don't worry about it. Switching back and forth between the SR9c and the FN was fun and interesting... three rounds of 9mm then three rounds of .45 then back as quick as possible. You will find your trigger problems quick. With 14+1 .45 rounds it is heavy but that means the recoil is negligible. You can tell I'm stoked about this pistol. It is a blast to shoot a pistol that helps you shoot better than you thought you could.
I plan on being at Shootzenfest and will have it available for those who wish to give it a try.

Thank You Gentlemen. Raver, I wish you could make it down for the Shootzenfest. Maybe one day you get here for a visit or escape all together. You are correct, I am lucky to have a chance to enjoy things like the freedom to exercise my rights and to meet folks such as yourself and the other members of this forum.
Carsontech, I put it on layaway at Bud's and spread the pain over three months. (520.00 shipped to Henry at HHB Guns)

I like the FN's too, congrats on a nice addition to the stable.
I'll be on the lookout for it at ShootzenFest!

One of my friends has the FN 5.7. He likes it so much he went and bought the .45 also. He bought the .45 with the threaded barrel. He is going to suppress it when he can get the money up..

They are pretty nice guns..

I've been looking at .45's and the FN is high on the list. Decisions, decisions! Thanks for the report.

Shotgun News has a great write-up on theFNP45 USG Tactical model that came in the mail yesterday. Almost makes me wish I'd spent the extra 600.00 for it. Just kidding  If I made a living with one, I'd go there. I just like to shoot them and know, if I need to, I can count on this pistol to perform.

I have wanted the tactical model for some time now but never have the coin to spend on it. My brother bought one not long ago, great pistol!

CDNN has them in their latest catalog. They have the USG model for 549.00. The Tactical didn't have a price showing. Give them a call and see how wind blows. :D
