Any one have a good processor? Looking for one close to Huger or McClellanville. I am just looking for a new hog processor.

I have used many, but one i will never go to again. Mellard Farms in Jedburg. Bill and his business are crooks. I would usually never talk bad about a certain company, but that guy is a piece of work...

I will stop there. Cordrays is always good, but needs more spice in the sausage...we always ask for more but do not get it.

J,

I'll ask around here, I'm down along Hwy 41 and Hwy 45, so not too far from your area. Cordrays is a jaunt, if you are talking about Orangeburg.. Don't know the one in Jedburg... Seems like there was one my cousin used up Hwy 6 north of Moncks Corner, I think that wasn't Jedburg, but can't recall thats been a while.

Have you checked over towards Andrews or Georgetown, not too bad a trip for you, and I know a lot of deer get killed over that way....

WOW...I'm Shocked...I only use Mellard and he has treated me right every time I go in. Maybe its because he knows I'm a cop but honestly every time I go in he gives me a whole huge box of cut ends of the jalapeno & cheese snack sticks. I have used every local processor and he is my man. If I buy 10lbs of snack sticks he gives me 20lbs in leftovers and they all go down the same way. Price wise he beats everybody for atleast me he does.

I hunted on a dog club for a couple years and we drew a piece of meat after every hunt. I would wrap it whole and put it in the freezer. At the end of the year I would take four coolers full down to him which had enough quarters to make 2-3 deer and he would only charge me for one deer. Everybody else wanted 4 times what he asked from me.

Just my two cents.

HHB,

He really did me wrong. I brought him a 200lb deer and got 40lbs of meat back. It took him over a month to process. I have used many processors and he was the worst experience. I will give you all the details later. I am sure your profession helps.

Wow..That sucks...I have an experience like that from butcher boys on 17A in Summerville. I took them a 175 lb deer and when I picked it up it was about 20lbs of meat. To be exact it was two plastic grocery bags. I got 5lbs of snack sticks, 1 pack of bacon, 1 tenderloin, 3 packs of cube steak and 5lbs of hamburger. I was one pissed off customer. I will never go there again. They couldn't even come up with a good excuse.
