Even if you think Nick Cage is the worst actor ever to be on screen, this is a good flick. So good I bought the DVD (Midnight Raver--I'll sell anything for the right price!). Entertaining, and (if you're not careful) a little thought provoking as well.

I have a worn VHS tape of it, I may take you up on that offer in the not too distant future! ;)

Decent movie, especially if you're an AK guy. The arms dealer that the movie is about recently went to prison if I remember correctly. Supposedly the movie painted a much more glamorous picture than real life. I still enjoyed it though.

Favorite movie quote: "I was an equal opportunity merchant of death. I supplied everyone but the Salvation Army. I sold Israeli-model Uzis to Muslims. I sold Communist-made bullets to Fascists... I even shipped cargo to Afghanistan when they were fighting my fellow Soviets. I never sold to Osama bin Laden. Not on any moral grounds: back then, he was always bouncing checks."

If you have the DVD with additional commentary, it has some interesting information about hte making of the movie. Such as:

1) It was cheaper to rent real AK's than it was to purchase mock ups.
2) The warehouse full of 3000 AK's (Vz-58's)? All of that was real.
3) The 50 Tanks he is being shown in the movie are real also. The movie production could not "Rent" tanks as that was illegal, so they purchased them from a dealer who told them they had to sell them back after the movie as he had a client who needed them (Libya).
4) The Russian Attack helicopter on the docks was real.
