After seven (eight? nine?) long months, I finally got to go shooting!!!!!!

It was just a quick trip to throw some brass down range and get a feel for my new gun that I've had since March but never fired before. We brought our 2 month old son & took turns sitting with him in the nice, air conditioned car. He seemed to enjoy sitting first with mommy then with daddy as we each showed him brightly colored picture books and cards.

As for my shooting...well, I wont be winning any awards for aim with only 5 magazines worth of practice, but it has been awhile. I shot my Glock 27 (veddy nice!) then our Keltec P3AT. Wow I hate that gun!!! Got some blisters and tore some skin on my support hand from shooting that rabid pocket puppy! I told Andrew I'd rather carry an angry chihuahua for protection, lol.

All in all, it wasn't how I imagined my first time back would go, but we had fun and I'm glad I didn't have to wait til Adam is a lot older! :)

YAY!!! So glad that you had a good time :)
Why was the keltec tearing up your hands? Seems like it's a rabid chihuahua itself.

We have the P3AT; its so friggin tiny you can't get a really good grip on it so it jerks around. A serious biotch to shoot...

Ought to look at the S&W bodyguard 380. My wife had a Lcp, but likes the Smith much better in every way. Much smoother finish than the Keltec.

Sounds like maybe it should be looking for a new home?

I really like my LCP, I have a Crossbreed minituck for it & find it conceals well for summertime... I find that I carry more often in summer now that I have it. (I do keep something with a little more uummph in the truck when I carry it!)

I personally don't like the safety and laser switch on the S&W bodyguard. The safety is small and pivoted oddly. The switch for the laser is difficult to activate.

Just my opinion.

We got rid of our Kel-Tecs when it ws determined that with just slightly more effort a Glock 26 or XD9SC could take their place. The tiny .380's definitely have a niche use and controllability is one of the areas that suffers from it's dimunitive size.

For little guns I have been very interested in Kahr. Very simple and have a real good rep. I'm looking hard at the CM9 or the CW9.

I just traded for a new/never fired Kahr CW45. It is about a half inch longer than the CW9...and, of course, a little heavyer because of the .45 verses .9.

We were at the range today and I finally said///"Hell, lets shoot it" We put 4 or 5 mags
through it...We liked it...I think it is a "keeper"...well....as long as I keep anything...

I wish, but it's my husband's gun and he won't be parted from it. In fact, he bought a keltec PF9 a few hours after we went to the range. He loves that they are both slim and light enough for pocket carry.

I hope they behave in his hands otherwise slim and light won't do much good. On the other hand, the next guns's yours :)

I agree. I wouldn't use the safety or the laser myself, but it's my wife's gun, not mine. She likes the feel of it better and gives her a little more piece of mind with the safety (since we have a 3 and 4 y/o). If that is what it takes to get her to carry it, then I'm all for it.

I have the Kahr PM9 for my pocket carry (usually don't though). I love it. It does have a good bit of muzzle flip, but it comes down very quickly. Recoil is very manageable, even with +P. I think it is probably the smallest reliable 9mm out there. Rohrbaugh's are smaller, but recoil is stought (so I've read). They are not meant to be shot much. Rohrbaugh himself admits that.

The old lady is eyeing Kahrs now because of you guys. You're going to, indirectly, deplete my bank account.

I admit, I, would love to have a .380 Kahr and 9mm Kahr as my ever day carry.

I only have a Keltec P3AT and PF-9 because of how much of a good deal I got on them, and how pocketable they are. I have no problem shooting them at the range, unlike Caitlin.

Also, the wifey wasn't suppose to spill the beans about my new purchase until after I got some pics taken. You guys know I love to post pics of every freaking angle of stuff I want to show off.
