I like the size and feel but want some honest feed back that isn't from the taurus forum.

This isn't the place to bash taurus, I just want 1st hand feedback of this specific firearm.

Thanks, McDaniel

Not first hand. But I've heard that you should make sure its a gen 2. Gen one had a FTF issue that was fix with a trip back to Taurus. But there was no consistency, rhyme or reason. Just an occasional rumor about it. Personally I believe it goes to the fact the people forget the little guns are particular about break in and limp wrist.

Thanks, I have a TCP that I shoot dead buts, but its got to go to taurus for some work. I love the gun and really shoot it well and I'd love to have a pocketable pistol in 9mm. I may just have to pick one up.

My shooting buddy & I both have 740 slims and love them. Don't recall any FTFs on either weapon. The double strike capability is great insurance, trigger pull is fine, and they carry very well. Only drawback is the lack of additional mags. Have looked everywhere and none are available. Also heard they will have an extended mag. When and if the start placing mags on the market I figure to get a few.

I was planning on buying a 709 until I went to see one in person at the shop. It's not a compact in my book. More like a sub compact. I ended up buying a Kahr CM9 which is quite a bit smaller in 9mm.

I think my next buy will be a couple Pink .380 TCP's for my wife and daughter in law. I also own a PT145 Pro and love it. Taurus has been good to me since the early 1980's.

I love my PT145. Very controllable, 45acp, 10 rounds, fairly accurate (3" barrel), and concealable.

Cons: Hard to conceal in shorts and a t-shirt, extra mags are about $34,
