Hey guys, I've been lurking quite and while and decided to register. The guys I told about this site a while ago joined months before me :D . I'm sure I've ran into a couple of members here at Boggy head. Great site!!

Kind of off topic for a new guy, but the parks and rec guy mentioned that boggy head may close from budgetary constraints. Anyone able to confirm if it is still open?

I have also heard the rumor about closing the ranges... I talked to one of the rangers...He said their was some budget cuts, but, they didn't mess with the ranges...

He also said that clean-up of the ranges is a big problem...So, please,,,when you are out at the ranges...please pick up a little trash...at least your own.

I always try to make a point of bringing back from trash from down-range when I walk out to put up targets...

I would like to see us get together with the Rangers and have a Forum clean-up day ...say once a month...

welcome to the forum!

Boggy head is like a second home to some of these guys.
As for the closing I was told the problem is the cost of a truck coming aroound to remove the trash from the cage.
A dumpster is quite expensive (and since steel targets are off limits at Boggy Head   )
someone has to go around and dig everything out of the cage. They par someone to do that. The cost is likely small by comparison, but when you're looking for ways to save money lots of ideas pop into the meeting.

Lets hope they just opt to mow the lawn a couple fewer times this summer instead.

Good to hear it won't be shut down. I pick up trash when I can, but when I see that family show up with nothing but soda bottles I get infuriated. I'm pretty sur the grass will be kept at a proper length by clicker and his crew :p

We do what we can as individuals to keep the range clean but for each of us there are many who do not care.
They look at a public range as right provided by uncle sugar who has bottomless pockets.

I've never been to Boggy Head range but the last couple of times I went to Philsons Crossing I was impressed with how clean it was. Welcome to the forum. :)
