Black Rifles 5.45x39 upper

Anyone have any experience with a 5.45x39 upper. I sure like the price of the ammo.

No not yet....transfered a bunch of the ak's in that caliber...I just got one of the plum crazy lowers in today for transfer....for $99 I am thinking hard about buying one. How much is the upper your looking at. Sounds like it could be a fun/ cheap shooting gun.

s&w makes one. great shooters i have heard . only downside is corrosive ammo requires q uick cleaning whenever you shoot it.

maybe 500.00 Its an olympic arms upper. I too may use it with a plum crazy lower.

Will it work with standard AR mags or does it require its own specific mag?

I am not sure yet. Palmetto sell specific 5.45 mags for the ar- So it may require a special mag.

That's the AK74 round, right? If I am not mistaken, they call those the poison bullet- sure would be a nice conversion... :twisted:

I do know one guy that has a couple of these and he likes them allot.
Ive been meaning to look into the ballistics of the cartrige. Has anyone reasearched it?
