Well boys I took my state tax return and decided to build my first AR

Palmetto State Armory Stripped Lower Receiver $70 from PSA

Stag Arms lower parts kit $70 from Stagarms

DPMS A3 Oracle 16" Chrome Moly Complete Upper with bolt and bolt carrier and charging handle $420 from Midway

UTG 6 position collapsible stock $50 From amazon

2 Magpul 30rd clips $30 From Midway

Tactical Rifle Gun Case $20 From Midway

What types of optics are yall using...I have a cheap NCStar on my AK i might throw on there and just go iron sights on that.

Also, does a trigger guard come with a LPK or do i have to buy that somewhere else?

Ill Be posting pics when complete

Trigger guard should be included with the LPK. The NC scope will probably hold up under the tremendous recoil generated by the mighty 223 round.

I jest because I blew the battery/switch section out of one while shooting it on a 7.62x39 upper on my M16. The thing still works just w/o an illuminated reticle!

Hunt down some 20 rd mags for shooting from the bench.

My NC Star holds zero even with the heavier recoil of the 7.62. I also took the scope off the side mount and the side mount off the gun and placed it all back together and was still able to hit a 2liter bottle at 100yds. I am overall fairly pleased with my $100 NC Star, i think i just got a good one...haha I love my AK I will be sure to post pictures of both when the AR is complete!

After feeling the trigger on steves AR I want a Timney drop in really bad! where is the best place to buy or the best deal on these. Also, are there any similar products that perform like those?

I feel your pain on the Timney trigger. I swear Steve must get kick back money from them!
He should change his handle to "Triggerpimp".

I think im going to hold off on the timney until i do my next build though. Maybe ill build myself something with a little more style next tax return i get...im dreaming about a .308 that'll reach out a touch those older smarter deer that wont come within 500yds of your stand!

I sure do bubba (thanks to you) - I think it'll wind up in my 300 Blackout build down the road.

A decent trigger is one thing I still need for my AR. For some reason the money always goes to some thing else.
I think that's a mutual problem for damned near everyone here who doesn't own a Ferrari
